So far so good, I haven’t seen any mole activity since the application of this product. It worked so well, I bought another bucket two weeks later. I plan to purchase one more to have just in case. I do recommend this product.
We’ve had mole problems for many years. They seem to like our yard and stay within the boundaries. After first application, they were gone about 5 days. I applied weekly for a month and every 3 weeks, watering down each time. I can see they “try” to come back, making 2 inch holes before deciding it is too stinky for them.
One bad experience was a heavy driving rainstorm after an application ended up with large streams of mulch-like material flowing from my grass across the neighbors driveway! I raked, swept it up and dumped it in the trash. I will apply and water down monthly forever so they give up trying my yard. VERY expensive, but so is resodding.
Previous to Mole Scram I’ve tried poison pellets, worms and grubs, at least 4 brands of repellent granules. A Yard Guard inserting poison granules underground into the tunnels, and traps. They always come back within a week in a different part of our small, 1/3 acre yard.
Mole Scram applied over the whole yard monthly is working! Aldo, since I found moles are attracted to watered lawn, I do not water with a sprinkler anymore unless mole scram is applied recently or hand watered with an ortho hand sprayer with caster oil mix at a low 2 tsp setting. The key is to always make sure the whole yard is “stinky” and undesirable to them
Update: I now feel I am paying a lot of money for pulverized corn or peanut shells. Caster oil is only 17%. It does not stay where applied. Any medium to heavy rain just washed it away into rivers with a pile at the end. We have a very level yard with no “visible” incline. Even though it works, so does actual castor oil in a sprayer that soaks into the ground immediately and doesn’t leave a mess to sweep up after a rain, isn’t in a very heavy bucket to spread wasteful filler on my yard.
It works as advertised. The instructions direct the user to apply product to about half of the property where the moles are causing the problem, driving the moles out of that area. Then on the 3rd day, apply product to the balance of the property, driving the moles completely from the property. Imagine concentric circles - applying the product to the innermost area first drives the moles out of that area first; on day 3, spreading the product over the remaining yard & garden area finally drives them off the property! By the 3rd day, there was already evidence the the critters had packed up an moved out of the area where the Mole Scram was first applied. A couple days later, my customer called and said she'd 'seen them crossing the street, suitcases in hand.' Obviously, they were moving out! Success!
I have been using this product for years and it definitely keeps the moles out of my gardens. You have to be sure and use it at least 2 times during the summer months and I always try to use it right before it rains per the instructions, otherwise you have to water it in. It does smell for a short time but I can live with the smell for a few days in comparison to the damage those critters can do to your plants.
