Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I'm not sure if this works or not... I spread this around various points of carpenter ant entry, but also used ant traps baited with various other agents (including other octaborate compounds). No ants in a while, but not sure what did it...
This 5 star review is really because I did indeed get 2 bags of "tim-bor". Although there are cheaper still prices for buying octaborate in bulk (google, for example, rose mill - but note the shipping costs as well), I doubted I would need more than a couple pounds. Factoring in shipping, this seemed to be a decent price, for me anyway. Actually, I didn't even wind up using half of one bag... two bags would probably treat a tall pallet of lumber.
Easy to use, I mixed it with water and coated my chicken coop lumber with it. I'll let you know in a few years how it's holding up. No obvious problems or chalky surface or anything, it mixed pretty thin and absorbed like water.
This product can also be used to safely kill ants inside your house if made into a 1% borate with 25% sugar solution and placed into a small container such as a bottle cap. The ants will take the solution back to the colony and destroy it in a few days.
