Bird-X 3D Coyote Decoy

3D Visual Scare

The 3D replica of the predator coyote allows for visibility from every angle. The moving fur tail also contributes to the lifelike appearance. As pest birds can spot the predator from afar, they are forced to find other safe and untreated areas.

Effectively Eliminates Pests

Works to repel unwanted birds, geese, ducks, and other waterfowl that would see the coyote as a potential predator. By relocating the unit regularly, the coyote will increase in effectiveness.

Cut Costs and Risks

By forcing out unwanted pests, there is a cut in recurring cleanup and repair costs. In addition, health and liability risks that are associated with animal infestation are reduced. Your property will not only look aesthetically better, but it will decrease nuisance for fellow residents, workers, customers, or more.

Best for Large Outdoor Areas

This deterrent has the ability to be visible across up to one acre of land. The 3D structure also allows the decoy to be effective at 360 degrees. This makes it ideal for areas such as parks, golf courses, sports fields, corporate grounds, airport property, and more.

Product Description

Product Description

This menacing predator replica frightens geese, birds and other small pests away from open outdoor areas. The 3D structure makes the decoy visible from every angle, making it more effective than a traditional coyote silhouette cardboard cutout. Its lifelike presence is highlighted by its moving fur tail. It can also be effective at much longer ranges than sound machines, since bird vision is generally strong and can spot predators at great distances.

Comes packaged folded up like a towel - takes a lot of work form it
I'll start by saying the photo I uploaded is this 3D Coyote that I had to stuff with 3 bath towels just to make it fill out. It would not look nearly that nice and full the way it came straight out of the box. I was very disappointed with the way this came packaged. It is a thick, flexible 3D resin that comes folded up like a towel in a box. I thought I would never get it formed correctly so I basically stuffed it with 3 large bath towels and used black duct tape to connect the 2 front legs together and the same with the back legs to help keep the towels from falling out. After all that, I placed it in my yard. I was watching it off and on all day through my security camera. The problem geese came by several hours later, but they never crossed the street into my yard, which they always do. I do believe this was the deterrent that stopped them. Tomorrow I will place the coyote in another location close by. The key is to not leave it in the same location or position each day. So far, I think it worked but just beware that it takes a lot of work and maybe some imagination to get it formed to it looks a little more realistic. Update:: I ended up returning this after 2 weeks. Eventually the geese were not buying into this 3D Coyote and soon they were in my yard within 2 feet of it. At first I believe it worked for maybe a week. But geese are smarter than you think.

I chaperoned a small group of elementary grade school children to our local sewage treatment plant last year and noticed one of these plastic/rubber coyotes on the property. Our tour guide said it did a great job "spooking" the local Canadian geese that liked to congregate and soil the property around the treatment plant. To maintain its effectiveness they had to move the coyote every few days to give the geese the impression that is was alive. Last winter, for the first time, we experienced a visit from a local flock in our back yard. My thoughts reflected on the sewage treatment plant's coyote and I ordered one through Amazon. It arrived within 4 days. I put it on display for the geese immediately and they abandoned our yard and stayed away for the rest of the winter. This winter, a couple weeks ago, they were back and I placed the coyote on the same spot the geese selected to hang out in our yard. Shortly after displaying the coyote the geese slowly departed over a period of one hour. They have not been back since. I make it a point to move the coyote every couple days a few feet in different directions, but keep it in the same general area. It works very efficiently for us, but now I've noticed the geese congregating in a neighbor's yard about 1/4 mile away. He's considering getting one too.

Update January, 2013
Our coyote is starting its 4th year of service in our back yard. We have a local flock of Canadian geese that seem to prefer to congregate in our neighborhood/yard during the winter. The material and surface of the coyote has held up remarkably well for the brief periods it has been displayed in our yard under, sometimes, harsh winter conditions. I've never left it out over night and don't put it outdoors unless geese pay us a visit. When I install it on the edge of the yard closest to the flock it takes about an hour until the geese are permanently gone for the balance of the day. Its fun watching the geese slowly depart as the coyote bobs and rotates in the wind on its mount. Sometimes its fake fur tail moves in a light breeze just like a live animal's. It is very realistic looking; even frightens our neighbor's dog. We think the only thing better than this rubber coyote would be a real one.

The only thing that was afraid of this was my 2 year old grandson. Did not scare any ducks. Packaging tape pulled the paint off when removing it from box. I should have looked at the pictures in the review instead of reading comments.

The coyote worked wonderfully for me. I was hesitant to buy it because of all the negative reviews. I recently moved out of my house on a saltwater cove and put it up for sale. I had not had too much trouble with geese because I own a dog that loves to chase them. But now dozens of geese invaded my lawn, even though I visited every day and let the dog chase them. They would just go to the cove and watch until we left. They ate all the grass near the cove, and came right up to the house leaving their mess everywhere. I ended up raking the whole lawn to get rid of their mess every time the house showed (hours of work).
When my dog and I brought over the coyote, we chased a couple of dozen geese out of the yard. They lingered in the cove watching us. I put an empty 2 liter soda bottle inside the coyote's head to straighten it up and puff it out, and then I set it up. When the geese saw the coyote, they got into single file and swam away out of the cove! Honestly! Later on I put out some shiny kids windmills around the perimeter of the lawn as insurance. I've been moving the coyote every day or so. One day I moved it too far away and the geese came back.
Every day one or two goose "scouts" swim past slowly and check out the yard. They leave when they see the coyote. I have been GOOSE FREE for a month now. Thank you coyote! The grass is even growing back.
Update: The coyote is still working after 2 1/2 months. It startles a lot of people, though.
