- Deltamethrin is the primary ingredient which is long life pesticide. It will kill cockroaches, beetles, flies, bed bugs, spiders and ants just to name a few. This sprinkles out of the container as a fine white powder, so FYI, don’t apply on windy days. Also, as it sticks around and can be seen, even after a heavy rain.
- I applied this to the few anthills in my yard and sprinkled around my house foundation. I have dogs, so I kept its application as close to the house as possible and not where they would walk. My invading ant problem was drastically decreased within 48 hours.
- As I said, the pesticide worked well, but I’m very nervous applying it to any area where my dogs, neighborhood cat, or kids might play. In the future, I’ll only be using this in closed areas, like my shed & garbage box, and will keep using a different spray pesticide for the rest of my yard and foundation.
For me, this is an effective product and would recommend this Terro pesticide.

This product, sprinkled on top of the only mound I have in the yard right now, actually killed the ants that were present. I have been checking it daily for any new action and so far, nothing. Will it keep them gone for the full 8 months? We shall see. If that is the case, this product will actually enable me to keep my yard any free.
This is a simple product to use, just sprinkle the powder on the mound. No need to worry on the weather like some other chemicals. It is waterproof and will do its job no matter the weather. It may take two applications but my mound only required one.
Fire ants make extensive tunnels underground and when one mound is attacked they just go to another. That is why they are so hard to get rid of. A product like this that can just be sprinkled as each mound appears and actually kills it rather than just makes the ants leave, can go a long ways toward really eliminating those pesky ants.
My back yard has been infested with fire ants for the past two years, and literally nothing we've tried has worked. We even tried the old "boiling water" trick, but they persisted, so when this product came up right after I joined Amazon Vine, I was thrilled.
They must have sensed it coming because, quite literally overnight, thier hills all vanished beneath the grass. What was actually happening is we were in a small drought that combined with the hot summer heat, meant they pulled down their hills, making them impossible for us to find as a side effect. But finally, this past week, they started building them back up, and we went to work sprinkling this stuff on each and every one of their hills.
Apart from one queen that, somehow, managed to make it into the house (where she met with the bottom of a shoe in short order!) we haven't seen hide nor antenna of a fire ant. We're now keeping an eye on the side and front yards, and our neighbors' yards, in case any of the little monsters survived and moved nests.
As an aside, what the HECK does Amazon think I'm reviewing, here? Under "Rate Features" are the options "Warmth" and "thickness"
Ummm... Not gonna touch either of those. It's ant poison. Says so right there on the review (I double checked!)
Anyway, if you have ant problems I not only will heartily recommend this, I plan to share it with the neighbors if they get infestations.
