About this item
- Repel Moles & Gophers – This repellent device uses sonic frequencies to penetrate the soil and humanely drive away moles and gophers
- Pulses Every 30 Seconds – This device emits sonic frequencies every 30 seconds, so moles and gophers never get used to the sound and vibrations
- Powerful Protection – The spikes work in a circular pattern, approximately 95 ft in diameter. That’s up to 7,500 sq ft of coverage per sonic spike
- Mow-Over Design – The spike can be installed flush with the ground, allowing you to mow your lawn and walk around your yard without obstructions
- Long-Lasting – Each spike will run for approximately 4 to 6 months on a set of 3 “D” batteries (not included); rechargeable batteries not recommended

Product Description
Safely send moles and gophers scurrying from your yard unharmed with this Sonic Spike. When placed in the ground and activated, sonic pulses penetrate the soil, emitting a sound that is highly irritating to moles and gophers who are virtually blind and sensitive to sound and vibrations. Climate permitting, leave the Sonic Spike in the ground to repel new generations of pests. This spike is designed with a convenient removable battery sleeve for trouble-free battery replacement. One spike will work for 4 – 6 months on one set of alkaline batteries. Spike must be used continuously for 7-14 days before moles and gophers start to move away from the area.

Victor Sonic Spike
Safely send moles and gophers scurrying from your yard unharmed with this Victor Sonic Spike. When placed in the ground and activated, sonic pulses penetrate the soil, emitting a sound which is highly irritating to moles and gophers who are virtually blind and overly sensitive to sound and vibrations. Climate permitting, leave the sonic mole and gopher repellent in the ground to repel new generations of pests.
Removable Battery Sleeve
The mole and gopher sonic spike is designed with a convenient removable battery sleeve for trouble-free battery replacement. A Spike will work for 4 – 6 months on one set of alkaline batteries*. Spike must be used continuously for 7-14 days before moles and gophers start to move away from the area.
How to Use
Be sure to insert the Spike into the soil so that the cap is flush with the ground to avoid tripping hazards and the chance of hitting it with a lawnmower. Effectiveness depends largely upon soil type: dry, sandy or peat soil does not conduct the sonic waves easily. Moist clay is the best conductor of sound. To use, follow these steps:
- To open, unscrew YELLOW cap counter-clockwise.
- Remove battery cartridge and insert batteries. Re-insert the battery cartridge into the Spike. If installation is correct, you will hear vibrating sound within 15 seconds.
- Tighten the cap securely to keep moisture out.
- Make pilot holes prior to inserting the spikes. Do not hammer it into the ground, as this could cause damage.
- Insert Spike until the cap is flush with the ground. Above the ground, it could be a tripping hazard. Remember where the Spike is located so it may be removed for battery replacement.
- Remove Sonic Spike during flooding and before ground freezes.

The good: the Yellow caps are a great idea. Will make it MUCH easier to find in the green grass when batteries need to be replaced. The other brand I've bought and used over the years has green caps, so can be a real challenge to find in the grass. I'm sure my neighbors are amused when I'm out walking in circles with my head down.
The bad(although not too bad) this brand holds just 3 "D" batteries(other brand uses 4) so it might seem like a savings BUT having the two brands in my yard these tend to run out of power vs the 4 battery version. Easy to replace though and this brand has a handy pop up "ring" to pull the battery tube out of the holder that stays in the ground.
TIP! Any of these sonic devices will work their best when the ground is tight around them when you bury them. So they will work better in clay soil vs sandy or loose soil. Also, invest in a auger for a electric drill or a cordless one that has a 40amp battery to drill your hold in the ground. MUCH easier and saves a ton of time. You can get the drill here on Amazon like I did, but just be sure you buy one long enough to get entire mole chaser tube in the ground.
As far as do they work? YES...they work great for me. I've tried the solar powered versions as well but they don't seem to send out a strong enough vibration to keep moles away nor do they stay charged enough to work 24/7 like these do. Plus, if you have shade in your yard they won't charge up to full capacity anyway. Stick with battery powered ones.
UPDATE: One of the 4 quit working and thought it was batteries but isn't Email to company asking for a replacement has gone unanswered so far........
