Put a couple dots (in the norning) where the ants are normally. Within 10 minutes it was like they all came out to feed! By night time, there were barely any left. Day two... Not one in sight, most of the gel bait was gone. Great way to control those pesky ants!
I had an ant problem in my kitchen, yuck! Warmer temperatures caused a few ants here and there to come up my counters, but it was only a few here and there, so I didn’t think much of it. Weeks later, it’s consistently finding 3-5 ants every time I enter the kitchen. I tried the normal bait traps, but they didn’t work and I couldn’t see ants ever going in. After tracking them down one night with a flashlight, I found some cracks in the cabinet/floor interface and sprayed it down with raid. The number of ants disappeared, but I needed to kill them at the source. The traps weren’t working, but then I found this which I could put in the crack and along the quarter round edging where they would travel up the cabinets. Worked like a charm!! After two days, they were confused along the floor so I added gel along the floor by the edge of the stove where the seemed to be coming from behind. Now it’s been almost two weeks and I have seen only one ant! I’ve left the gel for awhile until I seal up the cracks permanently.
Don't even bother calling an exterminator and wasting alot of money. I tried this when we had a really bad ant problem in our kitchen after 2 weeks of non stop rain. It absolutely blew my mind at how FAST this worked. Within the first 2 HOURS half the ants were dead. With in 24 hours there were barely any left. And with in 3 days COMPLETELY GONE. I was also bleaching ALL surfaces and the floor once or twice a day. But we also did not cook or eat in the kitchen for 3 days due to how bad the ants were. It's been over a week and we havent seen a single ant anywhere. I HIGHLY suggest using this. I will have to say once it dries it can get a bit sticky to get it off the surface. Also, I didnt read the instructions and just went crazy putting lines of this stuff pretty much along the entire backslash of the kitchen. Then read the instructions that said "pea sized drops". Whate er it works. Just buy it YOURE WELCOME
Costly, but works very well. Container sometimes needs to be shaken to mix bait beads and attractant. Works best indoors, but also outdoors for shorter time (typically 1 week outside out of the sun’s exposure). 1 tube typically takes out the same amount of ants as 1-1/2 cans of Raid ant spray. Southern California, small Argentinian ants, they are everywhere!
Found out about product through Channel Island State Park, developed to rid Channel islands of the same ants.
Very easy to use. Best to lay down a long line of product instead of a large blob of it. I did both, and found that more ants had access to the line of gel at any given moment, than at the large blob of gel. They did not seem to like crawling on top of the gel. Instead opting to cut off manageable portions from the edges at its base.
It's the rainy season here and every year brings little black ants indoors to pester us. We've always just killed them with soapy water and other non-toxic solutions around the kitchen. This time it pushed them into scouting our bathroom. That's where I laid down a long line of gel along the path of a couple of ants. It was like sugar to them. In less than a minute several more ants had been attracted to it. An hour later the gel was swarming end to end with ants cutting and carting off chunks to their nest somewhere behind the wall. By the following afternoon there was not a single ant in sight. Not even a dead one. I carefully wiped away the remaining gel and found it had hardened quite a bit. I was worried they might have left it because it was too hard to eat. In any case, despite heavy downpours recently, it has been nearly 2 weeks now and they have not returned. I believe the colony is gone. It was so quick and easy! I can't believe I waited so long to try this product. Thanks Raid.
Update: It has been roughly 20 months since I originally posted this review and the ants never returned. This stuff is great!
I bought this 3 pack thinking that a 1.06oz tube wouldnt last very long, but one small tube goes a long way. When I moved into my new house, we had seen some ants and set out some of those black plastic ant traps. But we found out quick about our ant problem was much worse than we expected after leaving some empty sweet wine glasses out overnight - oh boy. I immediately looked online that morning and found one writer praising the effectiveness of this ant gel. I went ahead and made an order. I had made sure enough gel was still there once per day. Within a week of placing the gel, there was no an ant in sight. I cleaned up any remaining gel on the floor and I no longer feel the need to have those ugly black plastic ant traps laying around the house anymore. This gel is easy and way more EFFECTIVE! I still have two tubes under the sink ready to go. Even if I don’t need those Id be happy sharing a tube with a friend or family member and let them see how effective it is
This stuff is the best. Just a very small drop where the ants are going and the next morning the bait is gone and no more ants! I’ve used it on sugar ants to carpenter ants. ( The carpenter ants required a bigger dollop and several treatments but are gone). Just be sure to use it where your animals won’t get into it.
