Was not thrilled to get a different brand of what is advertised on this page. That being said, I gave it a try and it performed wonderfully.
Main intent was to get rid of Virginia Buttonweed which was beginning to take over our St. Augustine turf. This is a very hardy weed that is very hard to eradicate. Creeping Charlie was also starting to take hold on other parts of the yard, so this would be a great test to see if this was the product to conquer both.
To apply it, I also bought the "Chapin G362 Professional All Purpose Hose End Sprayer with Metering Dial", dialed on the "1" setting,
and was able to treat the front and back yard (~3,000 sq. ft.) with 16 oz of product. I could have used less, perhaps 12 or 13 oz, but on some areas I did go over it more than once since I had some product left on the sprayer's container. The beauty of the G362 is that you could put the product back on the container if there's some left over, as it does not get mixed with water in the container.
Applied this at around 83 deg. Instructions say to not apply above 85 deg. Within about two to three days, the Creeping Charlie begin to wither and were completely dead by the end of the week. The Virginia Buttonweed took a about a week to show signs of discoloration, but it was very subtle, so it seemed that it may have beat me =D.
I resisted the temptation of reapplying in stronger dose, figuring it probably would take a little longer due to the hardiness of this weed, and was rewarded by an accelerated degradation of the health of the plants two weeks after application. After that, they rapidly begun to wither and ultimately turn black and die (see attached photos).
Turf now looks healthy, although it has several patches of yellow throughout, which is the weeds that are dead and not the actual St. Augustine, so I am assuming it will be a few more weeks until the grass covers those voids. I have also bought liquid chelated iron that I've just applied yesterday to help the lawn get greener quicker. I'll try to update this review in a couple of weeks to convey results.
This is definitely no my area of expertise, so it's sheer happenstance that I was able to nail my weed treatment on the first try. Hope this review helps someone with a similar issue.
