About this item
- Eliminate Wasps – Our exclusive VisiLure technology lures wasps, red wasps, mud daubers, and carpenter bees with appealing colors and a multi-dimensional pattern. Once attracted, they become stuck to the sticky surface and expire.
- Visual Attractant – The targeted insects are naturally lured to the trap without odors, chemicals, or wasp sprays. It catches queens and workers, from spring through fall.
- Thoughtful Design – Our unique Glue Guards create a barrier around the sticky trap surface to reduce the chances of non-insect catches.
- Prevent Damage – Mud daubers (mud wasps, dirt daubers) and carpenter bees can cause serious property damage. Our TrapStik can stop this before it starts, without the use of potentially harmful sprays or chemicals.
- Made in the USA – At RESCUE!, our goal is to design, manufacture, and market the safest and most effective pest control solutions available for homeowners. We are proud to manufacture our products in the USA!

In my case, I had 30 - 50 Cicada killer hornets swarming and nesting in my yard making the yard unusable for a few months in summer. Getting the first one caught is tricky and those and very BIG hornets. I really wouldn't want to be close to the device with 30 or more of them highly agitated... Shipping was very slow and by the time this finally arrived, there was only a single Cicada killer still active. two weeks sooner would have been effective. Maybe next year...
First things first: These are NOT designed to eliminate a huge existing wasp issue in one or two days (this is what wasp spray or an exterminator is for).
They ARE designed to catch wasps thinking about building a new nest near your tree, fence, etc. - especially queen wasps who build a new colony from scratch. Like roaches, once an area has been claimed the population quickly increases. EDIT: You should also either remove any existing, old or dormant nests if possible.
The idea is to put them near areas where wasps have built nests last year (or are likely areas for future nests). They should be put up VERY early in the Spring before high temps are routinely in the 60s. In Houston, this is usually mid to late February. Even though you may only see a few dead wasps on it after a few weeks, the few are the ones who would have started nests and multiplied.
Keep the trap up, it will be sticky and effective for at least 4 months. Replace it mid-Summer or sooner if it is getting filled up with victim wasps. Remember to repeat the process every year in wasp-prone areas.
Doing this turned a 20' fir tree in my front yard from almost a guaranteed sting every time I cut the lawn to a non-issue.

Problem was that small birds were also attracted to them and this thing is so sticky it was even capturing birds so they were discontinued.
I was so happy to see that they came up with the cage system to keep the birds off and were able to bring the item back to life.
My only complaint is that they are not cheap, but they do work and I will be buying them again this year.

I put the trap as far away from my peripheral as possible so as not to hear them but still capture them.
