Product Description
The Wasp Out Wasp Deterrent is a waterproof, fake hornet's nest that looks so real they will never know the difference. Using an artificial hornet's nest has been a proven method to keep away WASPS from patios, decks, garages, deer blinds, boat houses, hummingbird feeders, gardens, orchards, etc. Constructed of durable foam, this product will not only keep the wasps away but it is an excellent ornament that will last for many years. Most wasps are very territorial and respect the hornet as the king of the wasps because they will prey on other insects including other wasps. When a scout wasp searches for a place to make a colony, they usually avoid building their nest in the near vicinity of an existing hornet's nest. Therefore, the fake hornet's nest acts as a natural, visual deterrent, leaving you with a WASP FREE zone.

In trying to stuff the empty space with plastic (as others suggest - thank you!), I ended up tearing a slightly bigger hole into that pocket. So my one piece of feedback is go slow! Maybe just inflate it with air to start and let it sit overnight before you begin to try and stuff it? Just wish it actually came pre-packed and fully inflated.
It's cold and windy here today, but we will hang it this week. We've had a mild February this year, so the sooner the better. My poor pup got stung multiple times by a wasp last year, and wouldn't go in the yard for the longest time. Not a good thing for when "nature calls", if you know what I mean.
Make sure you watch the video about easily getting the decoy fully opened up.
Accidentally killed one, had them swarm. Ran past hive on ground, had them go absolute "murder her!" on me. Were all over my back, and through wearing two tank tops and jeans with boots, was I think all that saved me from worse. I had FIVE stings. And I can't take allergy meds unless I wanna go horror movie creeper crawler on the ceilings. So this year I decided to look up a fake nest. See if I could find anything like it. This came up, and despite it being more costly I was all . . . yes. I'm the only one tending the yard, I don't want another nest cropping up, and we have baby cottontails often in our yard during Spring, so I bought this, put it up just as the weather starting warming after the last frost or so. Have only seen the rare yellow jacket flying around our cherry tree, haven't seen any nesting (from all the normal places and where I've checked), and I am SUPER glad of that. I may end up getting one next year for the back yard just to be sure I've got all the spaces covered. It's really well made. I am super thankful. I live in the PNW so I couldn't do a paper one.
